Feel like you could be more effective in everyday life? Want to learn how to write a great CV, start a side hustle or manage your time better? This six-month course teaches a wide range of practical life skills to help you feel more in control with step-by-step support from a personal finance expert along the way. How does the course work? The course is fully online, self-paced to fit around existing commitments and can be started any time. Each week includes a short video and a practical (but theoretical!) task or cooking a recipe, taking around an hour in total. The course material is delivered via your online account on our website and we're on hand to answer any questions. We’re an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for the skills section of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Once you’ve completed the course, we’ll submit your personalised assessor’s report on your eDofE account and send you a certificate of achievement. What does the course cover? Part one: Everyday Skills & Money Management You’ll learn how to: • Be a savvy shopper that gets the best price. • Earn some extra money from a side hustle. • Manage your time effectively and set goals. • Negotiate and communicate with confidence. • Write a good CV to land your first job. • Save money on booking a holiday. • Buy a property and own a car. Part two: Cooking Skills You’ll learn: • Basic cooking skills and take part in a grocery bill challenge. • How to cook a range of simple, nutritious recipes, including chocolate brownies, homemade pizza and American-style pancakes.
