About Jo
I’m a Chartered Accountant (ACA) who started out in audit at a Big Four firm before moving into corporate finance at an investment bank, advising on mergers and acquisitions. I've since moved into personal finance and investing, first as a journalist for a leading financial publication and now as an investment specialist. As part of my job, I work with fund managers to produce articles, podcasts and videos about investing.
Outside of work, I enjoy watching my kids play sport (mostly), I'm a keen rugby fan and I love exploring new places when I get the chance.
I set up these D of E courses as I'm passionate about equipping young people with the finance and other general skills they need to succeed in both their personal life and career...but aren't always taught at school.
My teenagers have recently completed their Duke of Edinburgh bronze and gold awards, so I understand the challenge of juggling commitments around studies and hobbies. I'm always on hand to provide feedback which I try to keep positive (and with a sense of humour where needed...).
