Do you want to learn how to make money from investing? Or do you aspire to set up your own business? Our online, six-month course will teach you essential investing and business skills from a financial and investment expert. How does the course work? The course is online, can be started at any time and is self-paced to fit around existing commitments. The course material is delivered via your online account on our website. Each week consists of a video to watch, followed by a practical (but theoretical!) task. We are a licensed Skills Section Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. Once you’ve completed the course, we’ll complete your personalised assessor’s report. What does the course cover? The first part covers the basics of buying and selling shares. You’ll learn: • How shares work, why prices move and how to make a profit. • How to create a balanced portfolio. • How to research and analyse shares. • The six-week investment challenge: you'll pick shares and funds and set up a virtual portfolio. You’ll review how they perform and work out the final profit or loss. The second part covers the financial, marketing and website skills you need to set up your own business, including how to: • Research your business idea and create a business plan, including the financial side • Create a brand identity and market your business. • Build a website and search engine optimisation skills for your website, including how to rank on Google.
