About Jo
I'm a Chartered Accountant (ACA) with a career that's taken me from audit at a Big Four firm to corporate finance at an investment bank, advising on mergers and acquisitions.
More recently I've moved into personal finance and investing - first as a journalist for a leading financial publication, and now as an investment specialist working with fund managers to produce articles, podcasts and videos about investing.
Outside work, I spend a lot of time watching my kids play sport (mostly willingly), I'm a keen rugby fan and love exploring new places.
I set up these D of E courses four years ago because I'm passionate about giving young people the finance and life skills they actually need - the ones that make a real difference in both their personal lives and careers, but somehow never make it onto the school curriculum.
My own teenagers have completed their Duke of Edinburgh bronze and gold awards, so I know exactly how tricky it is to fit everything in around studies and hobbies. I'm always on hand to help and aim to give positive feedback, with a touch of humour where possible!
